πΌ About the Position
As part of the RISE-PS (Resilient Investment for Socio-Economic Empowerment, Peace and Security) project in Cabo Delgado, you will support small and medium enterprises (SMEs)βespecially those led by youth and womenβthrough strategic capacity building, incubation, and market access initiatives.
This role directly contributes to economic resilience, peacebuilding, and recovery in fragile communities affected by conflict and displacement.
π― Key Responsibilities
- Support the restoration, formalization, and scaling of SMEs.
- Manage and support Business Development Services (BDS) centers.
- Provide mentorship in business planning, financial management, and marketing.
- Facilitate SME linkages with value chains in sectors like agribusiness, WASH, and nutrition.
- Promote inclusive business practices, especially for women- and youth-led enterprises.
- Monitor and evaluate SME development outcomes and contribute to policy dialogue.
β Who Should Apply?
Required Education & Experience:
- π Masterβs degree in Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies or related fields
OR - π Bachelorβs degree in the same fields + 2 years of relevant experience
Other Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
- Strong understanding of SME ecosystems, business incubation, or inclusive private sector development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience working with government institutions, private sector, or NGOs is an advantage
- Prior experience with UN/UNDP is a plus
